What to Expect at OCC
We look forward to seeing you at One City Church. Below are the answers to some common questions to make your first visit as relaxing and refreshing as possible. Below you will find helpful information about what to expect.
Are there activities or classes for my children?
We believe in teaching the Bible to people of all ages. During each regular service, child care is provided by qualified and caring adults: Nursery (newborn to 2 yrs), Preschool (2 to 5 yrs), and Children’s Church (1st to 4th grade). Each class offers a relevant Bible lesson and activity time. We offer other age appropriate programs for young adults throughout the week.
What time is your service?
We have one service on Sunday at 4:00 pm, that lasts about an hour and a half. We enjoy a time of fellowship around light snacks, and coffee after the service. You can learn more about our other services and activities on our Events page.
What happens during a normal Sunday service?
We design our service to be an enjoyable time. The service begins with a time of worship, blending contemporary choruses and traditional hymns. People are free to sing and clap along; others might lift their hands humbly in worship. We invite you to participate in worship and to seek God without any fear of hype or manipulation. The Scriptures will be read, and typically time is allowed for people to speak to God in prayer. During the sermon, the Word of God is preached by our Pastor or one of our men, typically shared in an expositional way – meaning that the text is explained and then practically applied to our lives. After the sermon, we usually end with a song or some other way of responding to God’s truth before leaving.
How should I dress?
One City Church is quite relaxed. So, you will fit in whether you are dressed casually or want to wear a coat and tie.
