What to Expect at One City
We look forward to seeing you at One City Church! Below are the answers to some common questions to make your first visit as relaxing and refreshing as possible. Below you will find helpful information about what to expect.
Are there activities or classes for my children?
We believe in teaching the Bible to people of all ages. During each regular service, child care is provided by qualified and caring adults: Nursery (newborn to 2 yrs), Preschool (2 to 5 yrs), and Children’s Church (1st to 4th grade). Each class offers a relevant Bible lesson and activity time.
What time is your service?
We have one service on Sunday at 11:30 am, which lasts about an hour and a half. We enjoy a time of fellowship after the service. You can learn more about our other services and activities on our Events page.
What happens during a normal Sunday service?
Our service is designed to engage members and guests alike in an enjoyable experience of community worship. The service begins singing praises, with a blend of contemporary choruses and traditional hymns. People are free to sing and clap along; others might lift their hands humbly in worship. We invite you to participate and/or observe in this time of worship in any way that is comfortable to you. The Scriptures will be read, and typically time is allowed for people to speak to God in prayer. During the sermon, the Word of God is preached by our pastor or another member of our congregation, typically shared in an expositional way – meaning that the text is explained and then practically applied to our lives. After the sermon, we usually end with a song or some other way of responding to God’s truth before leaving.
How should I dress?
One City Church is quite relaxed when it comes to dress. You will be warmly welcomed, whether you are dressed casually or wearing a coat and tie!
